THE HEN

A joint project of two artists whose work is fused in the image of the (Slovenian) hen. The beginning of the collaboration was a painting Arjan Pregl painted as a prop for the performance PICTURE PERFECT, which then became the starting point for exploring the emanations and meanings that this image can take on in different contexts: artistic, media, and political.

An art intervention that took place on the same day as an anti-government protest in front of the Parliament, where participants read the Constitution. The work also included Polaroid photos of the special police forces forcefully intervening in the peaceful reading. The photos were taken by Nada Žgank moments prior to the intervention. In the following three days, they were ripped off the posters to which they had been taped. Produced by MGML as a part of the Free Sun exhibition. more info
